Hubei Geological Museum reopens to public in Wuhan

Hubei Geological Museum in Wuhan reopened to the public after a year-and-a-half renovation project, on January 4.


The museum features three exhibition halls, which embraces more than 18,000 specimens, including over 100 first-class collections. The 712 kg giant crystal in the museum, unearthed in Hubei's Luotian County, is reputed as a unique treasure.


Hubei Geological Museum broke ground in 1956, and opened to public in 1957. Its renovation work was launched in May 2020. The museum displays abundant specimens of rocks, minerals and paleontological fossils in the province, which also demonstrates Hubei's geological history, major geological events and characteristics of natural resources. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
