The number of high-tech enterprises in Hubei is expected to exceed 14,000 in 2021, setting a new record, local authorities said on January 5.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), Hubei saw the number of high-tech enterprises soar from 3,317 to 10,404, topping the central region and ranking seventh in China.
