A cold wave will sweep Hubei Province from Thursday to Friday, bringing gales, snow and rains, according to the province’s meteorological service.

In the two days, there will be sleet and moderate to heavy snow in the province’s southwestern parts, mild to moderate snow in northwestern parts as well as rains and mild snow across the Jianghan Plain and its eastern areas.

Accompanied by strong and gusty winds, temperatures are expected to drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in most parts of the province during the same period.

From Saturday to Sunday, light to moderate rain has been forecasted in the province’s southern parts.

The meteorological servicealso advised the public to take precautions against the cold weather and suggested traffic and police authorities prepare for icy road conditions during the Spring Festival travel rush (Jan.17-Feb.25). (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
