Profits of Hubei's industrial enterprises above designated size registered robust growth in 2021, as the economy continued to recover steadily due to the government's efforts to stimulate the vitality of industrial enterprises and promote high-quality development, the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Hubei Province reported on February 21.

In 2021, the operating revenue of Hubei's industrial enterprises above designated size stood at 4,921.57 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 19.3 percent.

During the period, Hubei's industrial enterprises above designated size achieved a total profit of 318.95 billion yuan, surging by 27 percent year on year and 16.5 percent over the same period in 2019, with an average increase of 7.9 percent in two years.

Among 41 major sectors, 30 saw profit growth. Specifically, profits of computer and electronic product manufacturing, comprehensive utilization of waste resources and iron and steel industry grew strongly, up 219.5 percent, 170.5 percent and 166 percent, respectively. （en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
