Hubei's high-tech manufacturing industry posted rapid growth in the first four months of this year, said the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Hubei Province on May 25.

The added value of high-tech manufacturing industry increased by 22.0 percent year on year, contributing 26.7 percent to the province’s industrial growth.

The figure marks an increase of over 10 percent for 22 consecutive months in the added value of high-tech manufacturing industry in the province.

Statistics showed that the added value of the province's high-tech manufacturing industry accounted for 11.4 percent of the industries above the designated size in Jan.-Apr. period this year. Specifically, the added value of electrical and pharmaceutical industries expanded by 22.3 percent and 21.9 percent, respectively. The output of optical fiber, optical cable and lithium-ion battery in the province surged by 18.2 percent, 17.8 percent and 20.8 percent, respectively. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
