Hubei’s retail sales of consumer goods expanded 5.3 percent year on year to 652.669 billion yuan in the first four months of this year, Department of Commerce of Hubei Province said on May 26, 2022.

The figure marked 5.5 percentage points higher than the national average and the second in the country, one place higher than the first quarter.

From January to April, Hubei’s online retail sales of goods by enterprises above designated size increased by 24.9 percent. In April alone, the retail sales of monitored convenience stores in the province jumped by 16.89 percent.

Xianning’s retail sales of consumer goods rose by 5.9 percent, ranking first in the province, followed by Xiangyang and Yichang during the same period. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
