A virtual meeting between Hubei Province and World Bank Group was held on June 22, 2022, in Wuhan, with video address delivered by World Bank's Country Director for China and Mongolia and Director for Korea Martin Raiser and attendance of Hubei’s vice governor Zhao Haishan.

In his speech, Martin Raiser noted that Hubei has showed certain advantages in the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, sustainable agriculture, urban agglomeration and transportation hub construction. He expected to further strengthen cooperation and achieve win-win situation in ecological environmental protection and economic and social development with Hubei via cross-institution, cross-sector and cross-regional collaboration.

Zhao Haishan said that the protection of the Yangtze River, pollution prevention and control, clean energy, rural revitalization, green agriculture and low-carbon transportation have been listed among the key tasks in Hubei's 14th Five-Year Plan, and which are highly consistent with World Bank’s Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for China for FY2020 to 2025. Hubei will better apply the good experience learned from international financial organizations and foreign government loan projects to the design and implementation of World Bank loan projects, and is willing to share experience with the international community. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
