Hubei, Japanese youth share hometowns via video link

Chief of Japan External Trade Organization's Wuhan office Saeki Takehiko is giving speech at the online exchange between the youth of Hubei and Janpan on July 15, in Wuhan.


The youth representatives from Hubei and Japan gathered together on July 15, in Wuhan, sharing culture, food and life of their hometowns and friendly exchanges between the two sides via video links.


The event was organized by Hubei Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, with attendance of foreign affairs officials from Hubei and Japan, representatives of Japanese agencies in Wuhan and Japan-China friendship associations.


During the event, the youth from five pairs of sister cities - Hubei and Nagasaki, Wuhan and Oita, Xiangyang and Inuyama, Jingzhou and Aizu Wakamatsu, and Ezhou and Sanjo City - presented their beautiful hometowns in a combination of online and offline forms. They played vlogs and gave speeches to introduce the culture, feature and life of their hometowns, allowing the attendees to appreciate the unique charm of Chinese and Japanese culture.


While addressing the event, Zhang Xiaomei, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee, said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan. It is hoped that the young generations of both sides can continue to promote the profound friendship forged by their ancestors and further deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries, spread the seeds of Sino-Japanese friendship to more people, and let it bear more fruitful results in China and Japan.


Saeki Takehiko, Chief of Japan External Trade Organization's Wuhan office introduced in his speech that the development of Japanese companies in Hubei has continued to improve in recent years.
