Hubei sees GDP up 4.5 pct in H1
The gross domestic product (GDP) of Hubei Province stood at 2.450279 trillion yuan in the first half (H1) of 2022, with a year-on-year increase of 4.5 percent based on comparable prices and 2.0 percentage points higher than the national average, local authorities said on July 20.
The respective added values of Hubei's primary, secondary and tertiary industries were 166.485 billion yuan, 1.057443 trillion yuan and 1.226351 trillion yuan, up 6.1 percent, 6.4 percent and 2.8 percent.
In the Jan.-Jun. period, Hubei’s total grain output recorded a year-on-year growth of 1.8 percent to 4.8216 million tonnes in summer harvest, and achieved positive growth for three consecutive years.The output of rapeseed posted 2.7419 million tonnes, up 8.9 percent year on year.
During the six months, the added value of industries above designated size registered an increase of 8.0 percent year on year, while those of high-tech manufacturing sector surged by 23.1 percent.
Hubei’s investment in fixed assets (excluding farmers) rose 15.6 percent year on year over the same period. The total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 986.617 billion yuan, ascending by 3.9 percent year on year. And the province's foreign trade reached 290.91 billion yuan, soaring by 18.4 percent.
In H1, employment remained generally stable and residents’ income increased steadily in the province. The per capita disposable income of all residents in the province reached 16,131 yuan, jumping by 6.9 percent over the same period of last year, which was 2.2 percentage points higher than the national average.(en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
