Here are the highlights of Hubei’s performance in sci-tech innovation in the first half (H1) of 2022:

- Number of registered high-tech enterprisers totaled 5,596, a year-on-year increase of 45.16 percent.

- Added value of high-tech industries above the designated size stood at 524.56 billion yuan, an increase of 91.122 billion yuan or 11.2 percent from the same period in 2021.

- Technical contract turnover rose 72.18 percent year on year to 159.957 billion yuan.

- Fiscal expenditure on science and technology reached 12.834 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.84 percent.

- Total number of technology-based SMEs expanded 113.41 percent year on year to hit 15,101.

- 18 national coworking spaces added.

- 6 major scientific and technological projects such as key technologies of new energy vehicles, and 290 key R&D projects in high-tech, agriculture, social development and other fields were organized and implemented. 3,657 scientific and technological achievements were promoted.
