Hubei's foreign trade exceeds 350 bln in first 7 months

Hubei Province saw foreign trade reach 350.57 billion yuan during the first seven months of 2022, with a year-on-year increase of 21.7 percent, local customs authorities said on August 10.


Of the total, exports posted 236.27 billion yuan, up 31.3 percent from the same period last year, while imports gained 5.8 percent to 114.3 billion yuan.


In July alone, Hubei’s imports and exports jumped 40.6 percent year on year to 59.4 billion yuan, hitting a record high for a single-month volume.


From January to July, Hubei's trade with its top three trading partners - the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the European Union and the United States - grew 32 percent, 12.7 percent and 5.9 percent to 52.67 billion yuan, 42.9 billion yuan and 41.68 billion yuan, respectively.


Private enterprises witnessed strong performance with the import and export volume hitting 217.19 billion yuan in the first seven months, contributing 62 percent to the province’s foreign trade, while the imports and exports of state-owned enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises stood at 70.77 billion yuan and 62.22 billion yuan, respectively.


Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, registered a year-on-year increase of 15.2 percent to 207.02 billion yuan in foreign trade, taking up a 59.1-percent share of the province's total during the same period.(en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
