Hubei's foreign trade grows 22.1 pct in first three quarters

The foreign trade volume of Hubei stood at 469.09 billion yuan in the first three quarters of this year, an expansion of 22.1 percent year on year, Wuhan Customs said on October 27, 2022.


During the period, the province's exports rose by 3.08 percent year on year to 317.93 billion yuan, while imports gained 7.3 percent to hit 151.16 billion yuan.


From January to September, the imports and exports of private enterprises in the province reached 292.81 billion yuan, accounting for 62.4 percent of the province’s total foreign trade volume. The imports and exports of state-owned enterprises hit 95.2 billion yuan, and those of foreign-invested enterprises exceeded 80 billion yuan.


During the period, Hubei’s trade with its top three trading partners - the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the European Union and the United States - registered 72.1 billion yuan, 56.65 billion yuan, and 54.22 billion yuan, respectively.


Meanwhile, Hubei’s trade with other members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership grew 21.7 percent year on year to 141.19 billion yuan, while its trade with countries along the Belt and Road totaled 138.84 billion yuan with a 39.4-percent increase.


In the nine months, 15 cities in the province maintained positive growth in their foreign trade. Among them, capital city Wuhan contributed 38 percent to the province’s imports and exports growth with 272.42 billion yuan. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
