Zhao Haishan stresses consolidating friendly exchanges between Hubei, South Korea

Zhao Haishan, vice governor of Hubei Province, stressed continuously consolidating friendly exchanges between Hubei and South Korea, so as to create a bright future of win-win cooperation between the two sides.


He made the remarks on November 17 when addressing the opening ceremony of 2022 Hubei - South Korea Friendship Week in Wuhan, Hubei’s capital city.


In addition, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to China Jang Ha-sung, Ambassador of China to South Korea Xing Haiming, and member of South Korea’s parliament delivered video speeches for the opening ceremony, while consul general of the Republic of Korea in Wuhan Kang Seung-seok attended and delivered a speech on the site.


Speaking at the opening ceremony, Zhao Haishan noted that Hubei enjoys a long history of friendly exchanges with South Korea. Taking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea as a new start, it is hoped that the two sides will jointly promote the all-round development of Hubei-South Korea relations, actively push forward cooperation in the fields of optoelectronic information, transportation and logistics, environmental protection, as well as deepen exchanges in cultural tourism and youth.


Kang Seung-seok lauded Hubei’s rapid development in semiconductors, optoelectronics and other emerging industries and remarkable results achieved in port cooperation and carbon neutrality in recent years at his speech. He believed that the Week will become an exchange platform to continuously boost the economy, education, cultural tourism and friendly cooperation between the two sides.


Jointly organized by Hubei Provincial Government and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Wuhan, the Hubei - South Korea Friendship Week will also stage special activities such as local friendship and cooperation forum, education and tourism exchange conference, and youth friendly match of go. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
