Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, was home to seven unicorn companies in 2021, ranking 10th place in China, according to the 2022 China Unicorn Enterprise Research Report released on Dec. 26.

According to the report, the total value of seven unicorn companies, including Lotus Technology, ECARX, Black Sesame Technologies and ABclonal Technology, reach 14.04 billion U.S. dollars. Three of them are located in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone and two are in the Wuhan Economic and Technology Development Zone. 

These companies cover the areas of new energy, intelligent connected vehicles, integrated circuit, commercial aerospace and digital medicine. 

The report showed that China had 316 unicorn companies in 2021, spreading across 39 cities with a total value of over 1.1 trillion U.S. dollars. （en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
