Wuhan, Yichang and Jingmen cities in Hubei Province were enlisted into national “gigabit cities”, according to a recent announcement made by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

"Gigabit City" is a landmark project of new infrastructure construction, mainly evaluating the construction and development of "dual gigabit" networks, which are represented by 5G and gigabit optical networks.
