Hubei, U.S. promote local trade and investment cooperation
On March 29, the China (Hubei) - U.S. economic and trade cooperation conference, jointly organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial People’s Government, CCPIT Hubei Sub-Council and the U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan, was held in Wuhan, Hubei’s capital city.
Speaking at the conference, the Commercial Counselor of the U.S. Embassy in China welcomed investors from all over the world, especially from China, and said that this conference will promote economic and trade cooperation between the U.S. and Hubei through information sharing and face-to-face communication.
According to the Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial People’s Government, the U.S. has always been an important economic and trade partner of Hubei. The trade value between the two sides reached 67.4 billion yuan in 2022. A large number of U.S. enterprises, such as Corning, Cummins and Honeywell, invested in the province regardless of epidemic impact, which made them deeply integrated into its development, and have been richly rewarded. With adjustment of the epidemic policy, Hubei has picked up pace to connect with the outside world and opened arms to welcome friends from all over the world.
The CCPIT Hubei Sub-Council and the associations of different U.S. states in China signed cooperation agreements on the site, in a bid to build platforms for cooperation between enterprises from Hubei and the U.S..
The U.S. delegation also paid an inspection tour to Yichang to learn about local enterprises and business environment. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
