The Ezhou (Wuhan) offshore science and technology innovation center was inaugurated on June 6 at the East Lake High-tech Development Zone in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province.

During the inauguration ceremony, 10 innovative subjects signed projects on site. They included school-enterprise technology innovation centers, research institutes, technological enterprises relating to optoelectronics, health and new materials, as well as institutions providing scientific and technological services.

As Ezhou’s first offshore sci-tech innovation center established outside the city, the center undertakes five major functions: research and development experiment, science and technology incubation, achievement transformation, investment promotion, science and technology finance. It aims to develop Ezhou as a hub for the extension of sci-tech industry chain, and boost the development of Optics Valley sci-tech innovation corridor.(en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
