Hubei enterprises yielded fruitful results at the Belt and Road CEO Conference on Tuesday, which was an opening event of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing from Oct. 17 to 18.
With the participation from 82 countries and regions, including over 20 minister-level officials, more than 30 heads of foreign business associations, and nearly 60 representatives from Fortune Global 500 companies, the conference had more than 1,200 attendees.
A signing ceremony was held during the conference. The cooperation projects covered 68 countries and regions, and encompassed the areas of infrastructure, clean energy, artificial intelligence, biological medicine, financial services, modern agriculture and rail transit.
Three Hubei companies, namely Huaxin Cement, China Gezhouba Group and Hubei Xiaogan Honggong Tea, signed agreements with foreign companies from Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Russia during the conference.
Hubei serves as a crucial junction for the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. In 2022, Hubei's trade with economies involved in the BRI rose by 33.7 percent year on year to 191.81 billion yuan. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
