Hubei's grain output rose 1.3 percent to 55.54 billion jin (two jin make one kilo) in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 717 million jin, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed on December 11, 2023.

The sown area in the province expanded 0.4 percent to 70.605 million mu in 2023, as per unit yield grew 0.9 percent to 393.33 kilogram per mu.

According to NBS, the country's grain output increased 1.3 percent year on year to a record high of 1,390.82 jin in 2023, marking the ninth consecutive year for China to register a grain harvest of over 13,000 jin. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
