Hubei's economy registers stable growth in first 11 months

Hubei’s economy maintained stable performance in the first 11 months of this year, with major economic indicators posting growths, official data showed on December 19.


From January to November, the province’s added value of industries above designated size went up 5.5 percent year on year, which was 1.2 percentage points higher than the national average.


A number of key industries achieved double-digit growth during the period. The added value of electric industry, chemical industry, non-ferrous metal industry and oil processing industry registered a year-on-year growth of 19.9 percent, 19.7 percent, 37.8 percent and 18.0 percent, respectively.


In the January-November period, Hubei’s investment in fixed assets jumped by 5.1 percent, 2.2 percentage points higher than the national average.


In terms of key areas, industrial and infrastructure investment jumped by 9.3 percent and 7.9 percent compared to the same period last year.


The total retail sales of consumer goods in the province represented a year-on-year increase of 8.8 percent to over 2.11 trillion yuan over the same period. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
