The Three Gorges Dam, world's largest hydropower project on the upper stream of the Yangtze River, operated smoothly and effectively in 2023, China Three Gorges Corporation reported on January 10, 2024.

In 2023, it generated over 80.2 bln kwh of electricity, marking a 1.88-percent increase year on year, despite an inflow of 24 percent lower than the long-term average.
