88 companies from Hubei province will participate in the China International Fashion Fair (CHIC), which is scheduled for March 6 to 8 in Shanghai, according to local media.

Hubei will set up an exhibition area of 1,720 square meters, comprising of one exhibition area for clothing and another for fabric. A large number of well-known manufacturing enterprises and clothing e-commerce enterprises from Hubei that have developed rapidly in recent years will display their new achievements and new looks on CHIC.

During the event, Hubei will also hold a roundtable to promote the high-quality development of textile and clothing industry.

Hubei is China’s important textile and clothing industry base. In 2023, Hubei boasted 1,771 enterprises above designated size in textile and clothing industry and saw their operating revenues total 198.5 billion yuan, ranking sixth in the country. Cities such as Xiantao, Xiaogan and Jingzhou in the province are rising as textile and clothing industry clusters. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
