Hubei vice governor meets with diplomatic envoys, institutional representatives from Latin American and Caribbean countries
Zhang Wentong, vice governor of Hubei Province, on April 23 met with a delegation comprising diplomatic envoys and representatives of institutions of Latin American and Caribbean countries in China who came to Wuhan to participate in the China-Latin America and the Caribbean Space Cooperation Forum.
Zhang showed warm welcome and briefly introduced the economic and social development of Hubei to the delegation, adding that Hubei has extensively carried out practical cooperation with Latin American countries in economy, culture and infrastructure, and has achieved fruitful results.
He hoped that through this visit, high-quality development achievements of Hubei will be better known, and pragmatic exchanges and cooperation between two sides will be advanced in local exchanges, people-to-people exchanges, scientific and technological innovation and other fields.
Uruguayan Ambassador to China and head of the delegation Fernando Lugris noted that he has seen the resilience of China’s economy through Hubei and believes that China will continue to be an important engine for global economic growth.
The delegation consists of diplomatic envoys and institutional representatives from 25 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. During their visit, they will also tour around Xiangyang and Wuhan to get a sense of the positive achievements of Hubei's economic and social development. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
