A Hubei delegation, headed by director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hubei Province Li Shuyong, paid a visit to Egypt for tourism promotion from May 9 to 11, 2024.
Egypt and its neighboring countries are important potential markets for Hubei’s tourism. On the afternoon of May 9, the delegation held a tourism promotion conference in Cairo, Egypt, inviting 31 representatives of Egyptian tourism enterprises, over 10 key media from home and abroad, and more than 100 persons in charge of Hubei’s major travel agencies to take part in the event.
Hubei Culture Tourism Group, a key tourism enterprise in Hubei, signed an agreement with Egyptian travel company CASTEL TOURS on tourism cooperation at the conference. Wudang Kungfu, Peking Opera performances, and Hubei intangible cultural heritages were also presented.
On May 11, the delegation visited the Language Institute of the Egyptian Ministry of Defense and carried out cultural exchange. Intangible cultural heritages such as Peking Opera, Wudang martial arts, Daye Embroidery and Wuhan Dough Sculpture were performed on campus, attracting more than 400 teachers and students to engage in interactive experience.
