The ports of Hubei Province saw their total cargo throughput grow 10 percent year on year to 355.78 million tonnes in Jan. - Jun. (H1), official data showed on August 5, 2024.

The figure registered 5.4 percentage points higher than the national level and ranked the second among the inland ports in the country.

In the first half of the year, the cargo throughput at ports of Huangshi, Jingzhou and Yichang in Hubei recorded significant increase. Among them, the cargo throughput at ports of Huangshi reached 45.96 million tonnes, ranking first in the province with an increase of 19.3 percent. The ports of Yichang totally handled 74.62 million tonnes of cargo, up 6.8 percent. And the foreign trade cargo throughput at the ports of Wuhan climbed by 14.7 percent to 5.31 million tonnes.

So far, Hubei has had 38 ports and 775 productive berths with a total cargo handling capacity of 554 million tonnes. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
