Hubei's GDP expands 5.7 pct in first three quarters
The gross domestic product (GDP) of Hubei Province reached over 4.16 trillion yuan in the first three quarters of 2024, with a year-on-year increase of 5.7 percent, local authorities said on October 22.
The growth rate was 0.9 percentage points higher than the national level.
During the January-September period, the added value of high-tech manufacturing sector surged by 25.1 percent year on year, 16.0 percentage points higher than the national level.
The online retail sales of consumer goods above designated size increased by 18.8 percent over the same period of last year, while the province’s investment in technological transformation of industrial enterprises grew by 11.4 percent year on year.
There were 1.4096 million newly registered market entities during the period, including 467,400 newly registered enterprises, rising by 24.3 percent year on year.
In the first three quarters, the province’s per capita personal consumption expenditures (PCE) amounted to 9,853 yuan, recording a year-on-year growth of 9.0 percent. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
