The fifth Hubei Arts Festival opened on Sunday at the Qintai Grand Theater in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province.

Hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hubei Province, the festival has become the largest art event in the province. The fifth edition aims to demonstrate the fruitful achievements of Hubei's artistic creation in the past three years.

During the festival, 28 high-quality performances will be staged at 10 theaters in Wuhan, covering various art forms such as traditional Chinese opera, drama, dance and musicals.

In addition, Hubei Museum of Art will also hold an exhibition to showcase 102 high-quality artworks created by Hubei’s artists over the past three years.

The closing ceremony of the event will be held on January 13, 2025 at Hubei Theater, where the historical drama "Qu Yuan" produced by the Hubei Changjiang People's Art Theater will be performed. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
