The turnover of technology contracts in Hubei Province totaled 318.7 billion yuan in the first half of 2025, with a year-on-year increase of 10.55 percent, the Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province said on Wednesday.

From January to June, the number of newly-registered high-tech enterprises in the province grew by 17.2 percent year on year to reach 10,296.

In the first six months, the number of national key laboratories in Hubei rose to 45, ranking 4th in the country. And six new provincial key laboratories were recognized, bringing the total number to 235. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
