Hubei airports handle record passenger trips during just-ended holiday

Hubei Airport Group announced on Thursday that the province's civil aviation sector achieved record performance during the just-ended National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday.
According to latest statistics, Hubei's airports handled nearly 8,000 take-offs and landings during the holiday, marking a 6.5-percent increase year on year. Passenger throughput reached 1.073 million trips, up 3 percent from the previous year, while cargo and mail volume at major airport hubs surged by 48.6 percent to exceed 28,000 tonnes.
The three indicators above all ranked first among central China's six provinces. The robust growth highlights Hubei's increasing role as a transportation hub in central China, with Wuhan Tianhe International Airport continuing to serve as the region's busiest aviation gateway.
