Hubei held a kick-off ceremony for major projects in the first quarter of this year on Jan.31.

A total of 2,506 key projects worth above 100 million yuan each broke ground, with a total investment reaching 1.5492 trillion yuan.

Out of the total, there are 20 projects worth above 10 billion yuan from cities and prefectures in the province.

The construction of 30 major projects in Wuhan New Town started on the same day.

Located at the border between Wuhan and Ezhou, Wuhan New Town will function as the core of the Wuhan-Ezhou-Huanggang-Huangshi region.

The total investment of 30 projects stood at 47.42 billion yuan. Among them, there are 23 projects in Wuhan and 7 projects in Ezhou. （en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
