Wuhan sees 411 China - Europe freight train trips in 2021
A freight train, coded X8202, departed from the Wujiashan Station, Hubei’s capital city Wuhan, on Dec. 31, for Duisburg, Germany.
Fully loaded with photoelectric products, mechanical equipment and parts, auto parts, medical supplies, plates and other goods produced by enterprises in Hubei, the train marks the last trip made by China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan) in 2021.
In the whole year of 2021, Wuhan saw 411 trips made by China-Europe freight train, 91 trips more than the total in 2020, data showed.
Out of total, the outbound trips expanded 57.4 percent to 159 while the inbound trips surged 121 percent to 252, which contributed to a total mileage of 3.85 million kilometers.
With heavy container rate remaining 100 percent, the value of goods reached 12.734 billion yuan in 2021, an increase of 78 percent.
9,770.86 tons of anti-epidemic materials such as masks, protective clothing, ventilators, and surgical gowns were shipped to Germany, Poland, Hungary and other countries by China-Europe freight trains from Wuhan throughout last year. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
