ZTE to set up R&D center in Optics Valley
A cooperative agreement was inked between the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China) and ZTE Corporation on Jan.13, marking that ZTE will set up an R&D center in Optics Valley.
ZTE Corporation, a global leader in telecommunications and information technology, plans to establish a national R&D center in Optics Valley for three product lines, including communication equipment and software, communication power solutions and data center equipment. It will provide strong support for R&D business related to 5G communications, and further maintain its dominant position.
Founded in 1985 and listed on both the Hong Kong and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges, ZTE has been committed to providing innovative technologies and integrated solutions for global operators, governments, enterprises and consumers from more than 160 countries and regions.
The Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone has been involved in the field of optical communication for many years, and has been home to a number of high-quality enterprises such as ZTE, China Information and Communication Technologies Group (CICT), Yangtze Optical Fibre & Cable Co., Ltd. (YOFC) and HGGenuine Optics Tech Co.,Ltd. The zone enjoys the largest fiber-optic cable production base, optoelectronic device production base and R&D base of optical communication technology.
