200 major Q2 projects start construction
On the morning of April 27, the city held a launch ceremony to start the construction of 200 major projects in the second quarter (Q2) of this year. The total investment of these projects amounts to RMB 208.7 billion. Among them, RMB 58.3 billion goes to 64 projects in advanced manufacturing; RMB 105.3 billion to 55 projects in the modern service industry; RMB 32.1 billion to 54 projects in infrastructure and ecological environment; and RMB 13 billion to 27 projects in people's livelihood.

On that day, Xiaomi Science and Technology Park (Wuhan) officially started construction. "To be built in two phases, the park will be a mega R&D center in the future integrating the functions of research and development, industrial park, and smart manufacturing," said Zhou Maohua, general manager of Xiaomi's Wuhan headquarters.
The manufacturing projects are highly anticipated, one of which is the RMB 3.08 billion third runway project of Wuhan Tianhe International Airport. The project consists of a new 3,200-meter-long, 45-meter-wide runway and its corresponding taxiway system.
