SAIC-GM to produce more new energy vehicles in Wuhan plant
On April 27, SAIC-GM disclosed that it was initiating the technological transformation of two third-generation global electric vehicle platforms.
SAIC-GM will add new modules related to Buick and Cadillac vehicles in the platforms in its Wuhan plant and add or improve workshop equipment.

The investments in the transformation of each platform are RMB 4.574 billion and RMB 1.893 billion. The platforms are expected to produce three new car models which will be put into mass production starting in 2023.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan between 2021 and 2025, SAIC-GM will increase investments in R&D and the manufacture of next-generation new energy vehicles.
At present, five traditional car models and three new energy car models are in production at SAIC-GM's Wuhan plant, the company's key production base for passenger vehicles and new energy vehicles.
