Wuhan bolsters cargo flight support for foreign trade

A direct cargo flight, carrying mobile phones produced by Lenovo Industrial Base, departed from Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province for New Delhi, India, on May 17.


The Wuhan-New Delhi cargo flight was launched for Lenovo Industrial Base in early March this year, in an effort to bolster support for foreign trade amid the pandemic. So far, a total of 230 tons of goods have been exported to New Delhi. 


Another available flight route from Wuhan to Frankfurt has also carried out export shipments for the industrial base since mid-March.


The export volume of Lenovo (Wuhan) Industrial Base has ranked first in Hubei for seven consecutive years. In 2021, the industrial base saw foreign trade reach 5.56 billion U.S. dollars, with a year-on-year increase of 49 percent.


In the first quarter of 2022, its output value stood at 11.3 billion U.S dollars, up 11 percent year on year, and the export volume ascended by more than 10 percent.
