Wuhan sees rise in China-Europe freight train trips in H1
Wuhan saw 240 trips made by China-Europe freight trains in the first half (H1) of this year, with a year-on-year increase of 62 percent, official data showed on July 2.
Out of total, the outbound trips expanded 67.9 percent to 136, while the inbound trips surged 60 percent to 104.
The freight trains transported Hubei-made products such as optoelectronic products, medical supplies, auto parts, textiles, solar modules and agricultural machinery to Europe, and brought back wood, milk powder, Volvo cars, etc.
The China-Europe freight train gets increasingly popular, of which transportation time is only one-third of that by sea and transportation cost is one-fifth of that by air, according to Wuhan Asia-Europe Logistics Co., Ltd.(en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
