Wuhan's GDP expands 4.3 pct in H1

The gross domestic product (GDP) of Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, totaled 890.41 billion yuan in the first half (H1) of 2022, with a year-on-year increase of 4.3 percent based on comparable prices, local authorities said on July 23.


The added value of Wuhan's primary, secondary and tertiary industries stood at 17.724 billion yuan, 343.905 billion yuan and 528.781 billion yuan, respectively, up 6.1 percent, 6.8 percent and 2.8 percent year on year.


In the Jan.-Jun. period, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery in the city expanded to 30.905 billion yuan, ascending by 4.3 percent year on year.


Industrial production in the city maintained sound growth momentum during the period. The added value of the industries above designated size went up 7.5 percent year on year.


During the six months, Wuhan's fixed-asset investment rose 15.6 percent from the same period last year.


The consumer market of the city posted a stable performance over the same period, with the total retail sales of consumer goods reaching 318.093 billion yuan, surging by 3.7 percent year on year.


In the first half of 2022, the per capita disposable income of urban residents jumped by 5.6 percent to 30,581 yuan, and that of rural residents grew by 8.4 percent to 15,510 yuan.
