Creative 'plant-based' homework
"Form patterns with five to 10 kinds of plants and match them with words or poems." This was the homework assigned by the Chinese Language group of Wuhan No. 49 Junior High School for the summer vacation. The students submitted eye-catching works made with branches, leaves, flowers, and seeds they had found — some even mingled with their paintings.
Chen Junping's work
The plants used in Yin Tianran's work are what she picked during her trip to the Tibet Autonomous Region. "I hope to express the idea that 'the best scenery is on the road.'"
Duan Jiaxin, another student, integrated flowers, leaves, and vines into her painting, hoping to express her thoughts on the relationship between humans and nature.
