The first Osmanthus Festival in Wuhan, Hubei’s capital city, officially kicked off on September 10, 2022. And it will last until October 20, local media said today.

The festival will stage nearly 30 various cultural activities to the public, along with a map illustrating 18 must-visit viewing spots for osmanthus flowers in the city.

In addition, an online adoption of osmanthus trees has been launched on September 13 in partnership with the China Green Foundation.

Wuhan now boasts nearly one million osmanthus trees, covering the mountains, lakesides, parks and roads citywide. The launch of the festival aims to set up another new flower-viewing brand for the “flower city” - Wuhan, besides its famed cherry blossoms in spring, lotus flowers in summer and plum blossoms in winter. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
