Wuhan saw its first rail-water freight train set out for Chengdu on September 26, 2022.

Since the second phase of Wuhan Yangluo Port's water-rail multimodal transport project started operation in August last year, the goods shipped from all over the world could arrive in Wuhan via the Yangtze River and are later sent out via the China-Europe freight trains within the port area.

The new multimodal transport enables the Wuhan-Chengdu freight train to reach its destination in no more than two days, which is much shorter than the previous transport time.
