Caidian District of Hubei’s capital city Wuhan and Taulesi, Italy recently signed a memorandum of understanding on establishing friendly exchanges via a video link, pledging to jointly conduct practical exchanges and cooperation in economic, cultural, sports, tourism and other fields in the future.

Taulesi is located in the Campania region of southern Italy, 50 kilometers away from northeast of Naples. It abounds in olive oil and wine. The city hopes to establish official ties with Wuhan due to Wuhan’s support for its fight against the epidemic in 2020.

Caidian District is where the Sino-French Wuhan Ecological Demonstration City and the Wuhan Sino-German International Industrial Park sited. They are important accesses for Wuhan to open up and cooperate with Europe.

Known as “a paradise for birds”, the Chenhu Lake Wetland Nature Reserve in Caidian District is a wetland of international importance. It has been widely praised by the domestic and foreign guests attending the 14th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (COP14) in November in Wuhan.
