In 2022, the freight traffic volume of direct shipping lines at the Wuhan New Port reached 31,600 TEUs, an increase of 128 percent year on year, local maritime safety administration reported on Jan. 3, 2023.

The growth is largely due to the Hanya line, a direct container shipping line linking Wuhan to Japan, South Korea and Russia.

Two new container shipping lines are expected to be put into service in summer of 2023, which will add the total number of ships operated on the Hanya line to 4. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
