China-Africa Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition kicks off in Wuhan

The second China-Africa Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, a sub-event of the 2023 China-Africa Innovation Cooperation and Development Forum, kicked off on Thursday in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province.


The competition features three fields: digital economy and innovative services, circular economy and industrial manufacturing, big health and modern agriculture.


The preliminary contests will take place in Shanghai, Qingdao and Wuhan. Teams from China, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, Liberia, Zimbabwe, Togo, Nigeria, Kenya, Mali, Benin and Cameroon are expected to participate in the contests.


The event is scheduled to run from July to November. The finals will be held in Wuhan.


In 2022, the first edition of competition attracted a large number of young people from China and Africa to compete in online and offline forms. The participants brought 60 projects in the areas of digital economy, energy conservation and environmental protection as well as health care, which further promoted the exchanges and cooperation of innovation and entrepreneurship between Chinese and African youth. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
