First China-Europe freight train in 2024 sets out from Wuhan
The train No. X8015, carrying 40 tonnes of containers, departed from Wujiashan station in Wuhan to Russia on Jan. 3, marking the first trip of China-Europe freight trains made from Wuhan in 2024.
Wuhan handled 848 China-Europe freight train trips in 2023, with a year-on-year increase of 57.6 percent. Out of the total, outbound and inbound trips reached 281 and 567, respectively, setting a new record.
In 2023, the value of goods transported by the China-Europe (Wuhan) freight trains amounted to 16.8 billion yuan, ascending by 19.83 percent year on year.
So far, the China-Europe (Wuhan) freight trains have transported goods to 115 cities in 40 countries across the Eurasia via 52 regular cross-border routes. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
