The train No. X8015, carrying 40 tonnes of containers, departed from Wujiashan station in Wuhan to Russia on Jan. 3, marking the first trip of China-Europe freight trains made from Wuhan in 2024.

Wuhan handled 848 China-Europe freight train trips in 2023, with a year-on-year increase of 57.6 percent. Out of the total, outbound and inbound trips reached 281 and 567, respectively, setting a new record.

In 2023, the value of goods transported by the China-Europe (Wuhan) freight trains amounted to 16.8 billion yuan, ascending by 19.83 percent year on year.

So far, the China-Europe (Wuhan) freight trains have transported goods to 115 cities in 40 countries across the Eurasia via 52 regular cross-border routes. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
