The second phase project of East Lake Greenway

East Lake Greenway's third phase project is getting well underway on February 20, 2024, local media said, adding that it is expected to open to the public in June this year.

Stretching 3.45 kilometers from Shuanghu Bridge to Fengguang Village, the project is themed around “Literary Passage.” It will feature separate lanes for motor vehicles, cycling, and walks, providing citizens and visitors with better opportunities to appreciate natural scenery and cultural heritage. 

Since started construction at the end of last year, the project has made significant progress with uninterrupted work even during the Spring Festival. On February 9, the Fangyingtai scenic spot section underwent a landscape upgrade and was the first to be opened. 

The third phase project of the East Lake Greenway will include 11 distinct lakeside viewing platforms as scheduled. These platforms will integrate with the existing first and second phases of the greenway, forming a continuous loop around East Lake with a total length of 105 kilometers. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi and Li Yiang)
