Wuhan's GDP grows 5.3 pct in H1
The gross domestic product (GDP) of Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, totaled 997.519 billion yuan in the first half (H1) of 2024, with a year-on-year increase of 5.3 percent based on comparable prices, local statistics authorities said on July 23.
In the Jan.-Jun. period, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery in the city expanded to 31.918 billion yuan, ascending by 3.7 percent year on year.
The added value of the industries above designated size went up 7.6 percent year on year. And the added value of service sector grew by 4.9 percent year on year.
During the six months, Wuhan's fixed-asset investment rose 2.6 percent from the same period last year.
The consumer market of the city posted a stable performance over the same period, with the total retail sales of consumer goods reaching 366.15 billion yuan, surging by 5.6 percent year on year.
Wuhan's imports and exports stood at 175.15 billion yuan over the period, up 8.7 percent year on year.
