The 49th Wuhan Yangtze River Crossing Festival took place on August 8, 2024. More than 1,800 swimmers from home and abroad participated in the event. The swimming event is usually held on July 16 every year to commemorate the late Chairman Mao Zedong's famous swim across the river in 1966.
