Wuhan's GDP grows 5.1 pct in first three quarters
The gross domestic product (GDP) of Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, totaled more than 1.47 trillion yuan in the first three quarters of 2024, with a year-on-year increase of 5.1 percent based on comparable prices, local statistics authorities said on October 29.
In the first three quarters of this year, Wuhan's GDP ranked ninth in China, and the GDP growth rate was 0.3 percentage points higher than the national level.
During the January-September period, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery in the city expanded to 62.752 billion yuan, ascending by 2.9 percent year on year.
The added value of the industries above designated size went up 6.5 percent year on year. And the added value of service sector grew by 5.1 percent year on year.
During the first nine months, Wuhan's fixed-asset investment rose 2.0 percent from the same period last year.
The consumer market of the city posted a stable performance over the same period, with the total retail sales of consumer goods reaching 547.514 billion yuan, surging by 5.2 percent year on year.
Wuhan's imports and exports stood at 290.85 billion yuan over the period, up 16.8 percent year on year. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
