A freight train consisting of 55 cars arrived at the Khorgos Port on June 12, 2025, after departing from Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province. It is expected to arrive in Uzbekistan on June 17.
Fully loaded with 110 standard containers of air conditioners, resin, non-woven fabric and other goods worth 23 million yuan, it is the 43rd outbound trip made by the China-Central Asia freight train since the rail service began in Wuhan one year ago. It also marks a year-on-year increase of 72 percent in operating trips compared to previous scattered modes of transportation.
Out of total, 26 trips shipping a total of 2,090 standard containers with a value of approximately 420 million yuan have been made since the beginning of the year, doubling the year-on-year growth in service frequency. The outbound trips alone surged by 243 percent.
In April of the year, the China-Central Asia freight train service from Wuhan was approved as a scheduled route, operating once weekly. So far, the freight trains have connected Wuhan to 13 cities across eight Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
