Since December 2023, many foreigners living in Wuhan received their new-version permanent resident ID card from local exit-entry administration bureau. As new Wuhan residents, they are actively contributing to the city's economy, technology, education, arts, and other fields.  

The new version of the Permanent Resident Identity Card for Foreigners of the People's Republic of China was officially issued nationwide starting from December 1, 2023. Because of the newly-added five-star element, the new ID card is dubbed the "Five-Star Card."

According to local exit-entry administration bureau, Wuhan has facilitated the application of permanent residence ID cards for seven batches of foreigners, and established direct recommendation channels for talents who have such need in all development zones. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
